I must be soft or getting too old, but 200 miles non stop :headshake:
I’ve never ridden that far before either. Taking trusty comfy tourer and taking my time and making a day of it. Nothing like the way I rode the TOC. Guessing I’m going to be riding solo most of the time do just hope the weather is kind and no headwinds like the TOC. Has got the lumpy bit for Norfolk at the end as well all along the coast. That is a lovely ride though. A chance for beer and chips while looking at the sea maybe ;)

Looking at others who do audax type events 11+ hrs will be riding time plus 1-2 hours stoppages potentially 13 hours

Yep definitely 12 hours riding for me. Have to average 12mph including the stops. I’ll only know when I try it, just going to have to pace myself. I’m sure it will be just as much a mental challenge as well as a physical one.

For my ToC 100 until I stopped in Yaxley, including all pit stops and other stops, I average 11.25mph. Had I continued at that pace I would have been about 5 minutes in front of the broom wagon who averaged 11mph.

My moving avg was 12.8 mph iirc

I think it may be because the van with my bike and helmet went up the finish chute past the detectors.

Carl, you lost weight? ;)

Time to treat yourself to some new kit- the top just looks silly on you now. No wonder people didn’t recognise you.

I have such a short memory for pain, I've just signed up for a 100km partly off-road event near home on Sunday. Most people - including the friend I'm doing it with - will be on cross/gravel bikes, but I don't have one so I'll be doing it on my mountain bike just for some added challenge :headshake:.

I'll either massively regret the decision, or I'll be hooked and searching for a cross bike to buy come Monday...
