So, I had an email the other day about delivery of the jerseys with a link to DHL which said they were due for delivery (at my work ) on Wednesday. I was off today but back in Wednesday so fine.

Then I got an email from the company this afternoon saying DHL tried to deliver but no one was in. Tracker says they tried at 12pm. I have checked with work and there were definitely people in all day and no note was left. Have checked the address on the order and it's correct

I will have to investigate tomorrow but ...:banghead:

That’s not all bad news really mate. It’s only Tuesday after all. Seems like we’re definitely getting them this week unless we’re very unlucky.

Yeah I'll go to the depot and collect them if I really need to - the challenge tomorrow will be to get hold of someone reasonably helpful at DHL and finding out what the hell they're doing !

Have these tops got fish scale technology?

You worried they are going to be a bit smelly? There’s a thought- won’t they need a wash before we wear them?

Well, if the youngest member of our team is talking about a failing body then i will just keep my mouth shut and suggest we talk about our fueling strategies.

Assuming we are only stopping on one occasion what are you likely to carry with you? I rode 75km at a slowish pace yesterday on a single 950ml bottle of High 5 2 in 1 at half the recommended concentrate. I just wanted to see how i would fare knowing there would always be a shop near enough to refuel if necessary. Croissant for brekkie with couple of expresso's. Completely fecked by the end. Drank a litre of chocolate milk as soon as i got home, protein bar, then 3 bowls of spicy beef stew for dinner etc.
I am thinking 3000 calorie expenditure over 3 1/2 to 4 hours. So, 2 950ml bottles of energy drink. a High 5 4 in 1 and second High 5 2 in 1 with caffeine. Fluids take priority. 2 banana's. 2 cliff energy bars and an emergency caffeinated gel/jelly beans. Too little? Oh, possibly some almonds or other nut just to change the over sweet taste sensation in the mouth.
What works for me is a decent breakfast - porridge or similar with some fruit and yogurt (and coffee - obviously!). I'll probably take some breakfast with me and eat it there after parking up because I'll have quite a bit of time, and I struggle to eat lots when I first get up. Then on the ride I'll take a couple of energy bars (one to eat, one for emergencies!) and a couple of gels. Could probably get away with one 750ml bottle if we're planning to stop as I can fill it up then, but I might take two bottles to be safe, particularly if it's warm. Will have electrolyte tabs in the bottles and take a couple of extra in case I have to re-fill.

If that's not enough I'll be raiding Bob's emergency jelly bean supplies!
