Only 3 TT's left this year and 4-5 Hill Climbs. Will start going outside more around 21st September. Need to buy a new turbo soon, I have worn mine out this year, it sounds and feels terrible

Must have a pop at some hills climbs. More my cup of tea that TT's. Apart from boring Cat & Fiddle zzzzzzzzzzz

Let me know which ones you are doing.

I am doing:

Buxton CC - Long Hill
East Lancs RC - Blackstone Edge
Weaver Valley CC - Cat and Fiddle
Withington Wheelers - Peaslows
Lancashire RC - The Rake (Shame this clashes with Lyme RC - Mow Cop as I would like to ride that, but The Rake is my preference as it can be used to benchmark against last years National results)

Then assuming I can get in based on my results from the above:
RTTC National Championship (Ferryhill Wheelers CC) - The Stang

Sadly I missed the deadline to enter this weekends Glossop Kinder Velo event up Snake Pass. Might ride over to watch, or I might go smash it up the Brickworks then head over to Long Hill for a recce.

Ditched my sugar in my coffee and only having milk in my coffee twice a day, rest black in order to trim down a bit (I use so much milk each day that cutting it down makes quite a difference to my weight).

The dates are stated in the following link for most: http://tinyurl.com/MancHC

Just change the district to North (L) and you should find the Lancashire RC event up the The Rake in the list. But for quick reference it is on the 13th Oct. The Nationals is on the 27th Oct.

You will have to be quick entering the Blackstone edge one, it closes on 3rd September, let me know if you need help with how to enter.

They are open events so all need to be entered in advance, the closing date is usually 10-14 days before the event date.

Do you actually ride on the road?

To be fair, using a separate wheel could lead to more issues than using a different tyre. You really need to change the chain as well. If you don't use a separate chain you are going to wear out chains and sprockets fast.

If you're not doing big mileage then i wouldn't worry about tyre wear, assuming you dont have very expensive tyres of course.

FWIW, just ride your bike (in and outdoors) and worry about spare tyres / wheels / bikes for another day.

I change wheels a fair bit and I'm not noticing any undue wear. Get about 4k out of a chain, a lot more than that out of sprockets. As Rob3rt says, just stay on top of your drivetrain, and don't run it into the ground.

Everybody I know who races does the same, it's just part of the process.
