so i have bought a new bike which is a hybrid e bike and im trying to get good fit. (see electric bikes section for more info on new bike)

when i ride it i sometime get knee pain (front of knee), i slide forward while riding, numbness of left thumb and also get after my ride pain in the very top central front part of my right leg

i have moved from a road bike to this.

any suggestions to stop these issues

Saddle too low hence the knee and thigh pain.
Reach too long, hence sliding forwards (or the saddle isn’t level?)

numb hand, grip less tightly

post some pics of you on bike side on :okay:

Sounds like you may have to raise the nose of the saddle in increments until you aren't sliding forward, set the saddle height correctly, then set it backwards/forwards so your knee is inline with the pedal axle, also try sitting on the bike with your hands on the handlebars with your fingers out inline with your arms, then set the brake levers so that they are under your fingers natural alignment.

First thing, measure the contact points on your old bike and try to replicate them on the new one

This is the way to do it, I have done exactly this with a new bike, the new bike has longer brifters and slightly longer reach handlebars, so I put a 10mm shorter stem on to get to the same position as my most comfortable bike.

Problem is the OP has gone from a road bike to a hybrid, so it's going to be easier to start from scratch.

This is for an MTB, but the info will be relevant for any straight bar bike, trying to copy drop bar measurements in this instance will probably make things worse, like for like it works, i've done it myself.

since i had no one to take photo i have used a wall and taken a video and then took a screenshot of me on the bike, positioning is slightly out due to leaning against the wall

this is after i did some adjustments this morning ie raised saddle also moved sadlle back as read this can cause sliding forward.

not been for ride today, as it is raining
