Trying to decide.......new hybrid

Anyone had any experience with either bike? I love the QX75 but I'm probably being hesitant as I'm worried about having another one stolen.

get the more expensive one if your insurance covers it!

seriously tho, I woulda thought the cheaper one would be lighter as it doesnt have mechanical disc brakes.

The brakes aren't the only change. Having said that, you can get mucher better spec'd bikes for £399.

Disc brakes don't add too much to the weight maybe 200-350gms.

What would you say is a better spec'd bike?

Well everyone will have a different opinion here - but for me, at this price range, I'd rather use the money to upgrade the "drive" componentry of the bike rather than worrying about weight and disc brakes. Especially as the main use will be commutting. As people have pointed out, and I know from experience, there's not really much call for disc brakes on a hybrid because you just don't get them muddy enough to hinder performance.

This bike got good reviews in a recent "Bikes for £400" article a couple of months back.

I'm sure others will make other suggestions!
