Trivial things that make you annoyed beyond expectations?

I don't see the problem with say a half hour per day during holidays.

As I said, the clue is in the name "holidays".

Our kids are half Japanese, and I'm very glad they're getting education in Germany and not Japan. One reason for this is the understanding that children should be allowed to be children.

Exactly. Kids are already forced into a traditional and outdated school system. Extending that into their 2 week break is ridiculous. There's a reason that overbearing, education obsessed parents in films usually get a rude awakening; because it's not how to raise your kids. Unless you're a school master from the 50s

I just checked: suicide rates amongst 15-20 year olds in Japan and S. Korea is are double that of the UK and Germany. This is not entirely due to homework, of course, but I do feel vindicated in bringing my children here.

just had another one on a USB cable... original price of £4.43, offer price of £3.51. Not bad at a glance but the original price includes VAT, the offer price doesn't so it'll be £4.21... a whopping 22p discount!

According to the Met office, 20 and above is 'warm' and 25 and above is 'hot'. (Though you are right to a degree but I still have to agree with the Accy man - man up you softies).
Up here in the land pf Jock, 15 or 16 is 'tae warum, oh jeez' for some poor souls..
We've had up to a sizzling 12 degrees locally and there's guys in t shirts and shorts. F*ck that.

A pal of mine had just returned from his second 2.5 year stint with the British Antarctic Survey, and was queuing outside the Hammersmith Odeon for a gig in the British winter; granted only London but it was decidedly sub-zero. He was wearing shorts and a tee-shirt and felt toasty warm. Even the bouncers were coming across to look as they couldn't quite believe it

Yesterday's discovery is why I am rubbish at some woodwork.
I realised that my circular saw is right handed.
I am left handed
As a result I cannot easily see the blade and whatever line I have drawn.
Really wondered why I had problems.
When I use the guide then thing are fine. But just following xthe line doesn't do it.


Now I don't suppose there is a left handed circular saw out there that rubs on Makita 18v batteries..

My computer is about to offer me four options when I close it down:
Lock
Sleep
Update and shut down
Update and restart.

Whichever of the last two options I chose, the computer will restart. Why give me the illusion of choice?
