Alarms are much better these days.
I worked with a man in the 90s who had a soft top car. The alarm had a perimeter detection system which would detect anyone standing too close to the car. It even gave a voice warning telling people to stand away.
It would activate on a daily basis. And the owner would run to the office window frantically pointing the zapper in the direction of his car.
Arrggghh, what's that pub on Dartmoor, the plume of feathers? Remember being there in the pub garden one lunchtime in the 90s. Something triggered an alarm - a series of sirens that swept through different frequency ranges, very loudly, interspersed with a verbal warning to step away from the detection perimeter (almost a bit "Robocop").

Hugely loud, hugely persistent and hugely annoying - especially as the owner of the car had apparently gone off hiking, so the noise went on, and on, and on. Awful.

Been a long time since I heard anything nearly so annoying.

The way radio stations play the same tunes over, and over, and over again, interspersed with cr*ppy adverts.

It's not like the songs were much good the first time around, by the 37th they don't even have novelty value.

Totally agree. Not much help to you in Germany but we’ve gone over to Boom radio “every song’s a surprise” and their playlist seems wider and somewhat more uncommon.

Of course, it’s streamable, so ignore the earlier comment

Unfortunately we can't use that because we're a "public space" so we'd need a licence. Also, English language adverts and commentary would cause comment.

I wonder if we can pick up French radio?

Photos posted on the internet without any information - beautiful scenery being the chief problem.

TELL US WHERE IT IS!!! We might know it, or want to go there. Not just marvel at your good fortune!!!

[I'm totally guilty of this myself, sadly ... ]
I always put a location on any pics I post but am irritated by tourists posting their holiday snaps on our local "Help and Information" FB page. We know where they were take but they are neither helpful or informative.

Formula 1.

To paraphrase the late, great Sean Lock, putting on two washing machines and seeing which one finishes first give similar levels of 'entertainment'.

Deathly dull, climate-rotting shite.
Gotta agree.. As a former F1 addict, its lost something, I still watch but couldn't care less anymore who wins, or even if I miss the 'race' altogether.

Accepting im probably just as annoying to my wife sometimes...my wife's ability to ask me something...while she's out of (clear) earshot.
Eh, I can't hear you duck ?
So she repeats in the same volume....
'Couldn't hear you the first time...and you're further away this time'

At that point, I usually get called cloth ears
