They are getting better I think, I've ordered loads of smaller items in the last year or so (books, tools etc) and they've all come in the cardboard envelopes. I've not seen a big box / small item in a long time thankfully, that drove me mad too.
But cardboard envelopes which are sometimes way bigger than they need to be and which will not fit through a letterbox.

I bought a guitar strap last week. Slightly too much cardboard, I reckon...

Perhaps it’s like a packet of OMO being put in a kitchen window to mean Old Man Out.

I think you have it. The occupier is using the stuffing to advertise that he's got a willing partner for fun and games, but is looking for more to join them in their Devon bolthole:

David's Up Myfanwy's Place, Laciviously Into Naughty Games. Meet In Exe.

The grammar and spelling in many CC thread titles.
I don't think it's too bad. Now if you want very poor grammar you only have to look at local Facebook pages! Not all 'uneducated youngsters' either. Many my age and over post on this town's page and boy I think I was writing better than that in infant school!!

This one might border on the non-trivial but….

Electrical devices that use red, amber and/or green LEDs to indicate status. Like approx 1 in 12 men in the U.K. I’m red-green colourblind. Thanks to a 2nd year supervisor at university who was a biophysicist with a colourblindness project running, I found out I’m actually about 1 in 200 in terms of severity.

So, the LEDs. Is my battery charged? No idea. Has that swipe card unlocked the door? Guess I’ll just have to give it a tug like an idiot to find out. Telly on standby? Not a clue.

Looking at you SRAM!

My TV would be okay for you - led red = standby; led off = TV on.

I was thinking about this subject the other day when watching a video review about a gadget which used a led's colour to indicate which one of 4 modes the device was in (or off). It wasn't really that clear to me which was which in the video and I am not even colour blind!

People who point out the obvious, usually just making conversation but bugs me

Just had some paint, brushes and rollers delivered, delivery guy - 'Doing some decorating are we'. No mate I just like collecting decorating supplies??
Usually when I cycle to work and go in wet 'Oh is it raining'. Not at all, just thought I'd jump in the river Humber for a laugh before I started!

Good job it's not me then, "can't afford a Decorator" or "why choose to cycle to work in this weather " better?

Miserable g*t's!
