Delivery drivers who make no attempt to announce their presence. Twice over the weekend I had a parcel and a food delivery. Both drivers didn't use the doorbell which is right in front of their nose. One of them knocked so quietly that no-one heard, I just found my food in the porch by chance. The other one had left the parcel outside and walked away. I bought a doorbell so flippin well use it!
Where I live they just open the door leave the parcel inside shout and go.

I presume by 'she' you are referring to me, not the cat's mother?

Yes I do think any English person who is flying the Union Flag thinking that it's an English flag is unutterably stupid.

And I do think that flying 'the flag' - ie a single national flag - on a domestic property on a regular/daily basis is a remarkably stupid thing to do in general, be that flag English, Irish, Scottish, Welsh, the Union flag or a Martian one ... the only logical reason I can see for doing it is that the person living at that property often forgets which country they are in, and needs to be reminded.

Flying a flag on a particular celebratory day, or in a specific , accepted, way as a signal/mark of an event is a different matter altogether, as is flying a flag on an 'official' building or elsewhere in response to regulations - or even just custom - requiring such identification.
Thank you, a simple 'yes ' would have been sufficient.

I found an old Santa statuette in the cellar of this house several years ago. I liked it so I cleaned it and put it on the mantelpiece for Christmas. Santa is still there looking down on me now!

There are always stupid people who do that kind of thing. Here is one irate farmer's answer to such people...

I used to know some who lived in Valley on Anglesey

yup - the ones near RAF Valley - famous for being the main RAF fats jet training base - and hence the busiest RAF base in the UK

Her family had lived there for several generations

Every few years an 'incomer' would move in and write letter to the local paper DEMANDING that something be done about the aircraft noise and the hours of operation - especially the scheduled night flights - are reduced due to excessive noise
A load of other people - all of who had moved in recently - which to them means in this generation - would reply in support

the real locals would be thinking
You bought a house which was pretty cheap - because there are a load of fast jets flying nearby
then you want the jets to stop flying??????

most of the locals liked the jets - they kept the price's low

and they also liked the people who moved there because they liked the jest and loved it when EVEN FASTER jets turned up

just the people who moved somewhere and then wanted the somewhere to change

what a bunch of morons!

My pronouns are "He", "Him" and "buggerlugs"
Not all the locals liked the jets though.

I may disagree with you on one particular topic but I really admire women with attitude. Patti Smith is one of my favourite artists as much for her attitide as her singing. Respect where it's due.
Edit. I forgot to add sense of humour

microsoft.com/classic-stars-screensaver ^_^

...only to find i can't actually use it as a screensaver

You need to install windows XP in a virtual machine. Then copy SSSTARS.SCR from the windows/system32 directory to USB. Then copy from there into same place in your current Windows Or C:\Windows\SysWOW64\ if you have 64 bit windows.

or alternatively, boot up my ancient XP laptop and copy the ssstars.scr to usb.... blah blah blah, as mentioned a while ago in the 'trivial things that please' thread ^_^
