At present after a year of cycling I still have to change to granny gear on my hybrid 28 on the front and 30 on the back
I have improved and on Sunday managed 32 miles at over 14 mph. but I know I am still not that good at hills
that's a faster average than mine unless I am out on a leisure ride in the middle of summer with absolutely no kit... At the moment I am averaging 19-20kph (12-12.5mph) (unless there is a nasty headwind  like last Thursday and Sunday which saw my average drop to 17kph (just over 10.5mph!)). So you may not be as bad as you think!

Well I've just signed up for Lands End John O'Groats next year. Now shall I do it on my Triban 5 or my caad10. Kit is carried by our organiser so no need for panniers. Decisions decisions

Just bought mine today. Had to take it for a blast as soon as I got in. I couldn't get a red in my size so I got white. I'm impressed so far. I weighed it when I got home 9.7kg!!! I had to check my scales.

Gonna try a long ride tomorrow. Long for a newbie anyway lol

I see you've already joined TOC ash. Nice one.
It's a bit wet and wild out there at the moment. Stay safe if you venture out.

how does the new one compare as ive read some great reviews on the red one and very limited stock and dont live near a decathlon shop

Red T3's are still available but the sizes are fast becoming limited. There seems to be a fair few 54's available whereas the 57 is more rare.
Check out Decathlon's website or give the one nearest to you a ring.

At present I'm getting cabin fever, wild wind and lashing rain have put paid to my rides out. Just having to make do with the turbo although it's no real substitute for getting out on the road.

just found this on my bike...

I know when and where it happened, just not the how or who!
Dr's surgery last week - I have to chain/lock the bike to some railings which have a wall at the bottom of them and when I came back to the bike a car was parked exceptionally closely to my bike - too close to stand between my bike & the car bumper (despite it being a no parking zone)... I can only conclude that either someone tried walking between car & bike and knocked it over and it slid down the wall or that the car somehow caught the bike....:cursing:) . Further examination has revealed a number of other scratches all of the same degree and age all in the same 'line of fire'. Not impressed... touch up paint from Halfords has been purchased!

Sorry to hear about your damaged bike. Let us know what sort of colour match you get with Halfords paint. Its the sort of thing that seems to happen to my bike.

Hi was in Decathlon today and had a look at the triban3, seem to be good value for money at £250 for the red one and £300 for the white one. Wasn't quite sure of frame size though, was undecided wether a 54 or 57 would be suitable at 5'8 and 29/30inch inside leg.

I would imagine 54cm would be the better size. Mine is slightly too big for me and I'm 5'6" with a same inside leg - I had to shorten the stem slightly to take into account less reach..

Is it really 250 quid for the T3 red?? I gotta get me one if still available!

Wow, thanks. Didn't know it had been reduced, haven't been on this site for a while, glad I logged back on!
Glad to have helped someone out already lol, quite honestly thought the boy had priced it incorrectly when I asked him, had to get him to double check
