OK so have found an internal rack so I can carry my bike upright inside my car secured through the front dropouts. I have a jeep but even so I still am going to have to lower my saddle down to get the head height. I'm looking for quick hacks/ideas to enable me to reposition the saddle back to riding height. I have the saddle set perfectly for me at the moment so would like to be able to set it back to the same height within seconds of arriving at a ride.

My bike is full carbon so don't really want to mark the frame. I used to use some electrical tape on my old bike but that doesn't allow me to push the saddle down only remove completely which I don't really want to have to do.

Are you restricted by the headroom inside or the door top sill? Maybe angle the bike to get it in and then put it upright? This works for me. BTW what fork clamp did you get? Otherwise, how about just using a ruler?

Maybe marker or tape towards the top of the seatpin, a measured distance away from the clamp, plus a ruler or tape measure? This would allow you to drop the seatpin down

IMG_2606.JPG Here's mine. Much more secure than on the roof, and easier. The fork clamp is from an old roof system, attached to a surplus roof bar (and still have 5 seats available).
