And therein is the issue. Loads of people pontificating about cycling when they haven't ridden a bicycle on our roads for years and have absolutely no understanding of the mode of transport.
Instead of writing lots of action plans for cycling (I reckon cycling is worse for the environment than flying if you take into account the swathes of forests that must have been chopped down for cycling action plans) which are then disregarded because they don't fit engineers' maths models for traffic flow, it would be better to get people like those on the Transport Committee on a cycle and going around London.
