I think faking the approval stickers is a bit more than just "inappropriate". Fraudulent and arguably risking the riders' necks because none of the frames had been independently tested, no?

Agreed, but given it's an investigation currently I was hedging it. It looks like British Cycling wouldn't given them a UCI licence hence why they've gone - https://www.cyclingweekly.com/racin...y-british-continental-teams-decision-to-close

That's interesting. It makes it look like BC would essentially be vouching for the team's compliance with the UCI rules. Maybe they felt they didn't have enough confidence in the team management and processes not to try a similar stunt in future?

A linked story says DS Steve Lampier is owed thousands, which might also make BC doubt team compliance.

Murkier and murkier, but it wouldn't be the first team with dodgy management. Bike racing is not a business that attracts cautious managers.
