Not sure where best to post this.

Looking to take a jaunt on the TPT towards Southport from the Lymm end. Does anyone know of any cafes along the route.

I can't find much on the web, bar buying the official guide. Only one I know of is the pub at Fiddler's Ferry power station.

Any help gratefully received.

Same thoughts I'm afraid. I passed that way a couple months back and stopped at the pub for lunch but found it serving booze only due to it being off season, summer now but I'd ring ahead if your planning on feeding there.

Its the Ferry Tavern BTW

TBH I dont think the official guide is much good for cafe/food stops, unless its been changed quite a bit since I got mine several years ago. The last time I did the TPT we just went into a nearby village & stumbled upon a fish & chip shop, but there were also bakeries & the like, but cant remember where it was  sorry

I think there is a cafe in the Catalyst Museum by Spike Island as you approach the Bridge at Widnes! Check it out first though. hope this helps!

Still part of the team !
Try the Child of Hale pub in, err, Hale. I've been there several times and the food has always been good. It's also far enough along the TPT from Lymm that you'll be ready for something to eat.
Having said that, it's still a long way to Southport from there.

I might just buy the official guide.

You can get them from Amazon cheap enough and any updates to older versions are on the TPT website.

Have you done it before? Cycling through liverpool on that route was pretty funky, your in deep cuttings or on top of embankments most of the way and its almost suprising that there is a full city around you. Theres a dog leg towards the Albert Dock as well if you want a small diversion.

I am opening a cafe on the TPT in May. There's clearly a lack of places actually on the trail so hopefully this fun little place will give cyclists and walkers a much needed place to relax and recharge. Will be situated on Woodcote Road at Woodcote Stables near Dunham Massey. There' a place there at the moment which is very under utilised and I aim to make it cycle themed and cycle friendly when I take over in May. I hope this post doesn't come across as an advert. I have avoided linking any web links etc as I merely wanted to contribute to this post. When the place is officially up and running I will post a suitable link on this site to let you all know.
