Puzzle game procrastinator!
ColinJ and screenman - which do you think are the most accurate calorie calculators for this? What do you think of strava for example? Halves the calories from my garmin!
My point was that trying to calculate calories to see if you will lose 'x' amount of weight is rather an indirect way of doing it. Why not just weigh yourself and see if you did manage to lose it!

Think 40-45 calories burned per mile of cycling and you won't be too far out though.

As for controlling eating ... take a look at THIS THREAD. Lots of us on CycleChat have a lot of success with the 5:2 'fasting' method.

I go with 30 a mile, but being a middle aged female, BMR will be lower

why not do the following to get a handle on your overall eating plan.

weigh youself on day 1.
eat/ drink as your normall would and record your calories via my fitnesspal for 2 weeks.
ride your bike as normal.
do your normal routine
weigh youself 2 weeks later.

do the maths and see how your overall diet for the 2 weeks has reduced/ maintained/ increased your "weight".

then make a long term plan to reduce your bodyfat while maintaining muscle mass, and still having a life.

You don't need Strava
You don't need a calorie counter
You just need to ride your bike on a very regular basis. At least an hour a day.
Eat healthy, cut out the crap foods and cut way back on the booze.
Keep all that up then watch yourself get fit and lose weight.
But you have to work at it. No pain, no gain as the saying goes.
