BTW, just quoting 2000 ft of climbing in 35 miles is not specific enough to determine how difficult the ride really was.

There could have been a gentle slope up for 17.5 miles and a freewheel back down again.
There could have been three Catagory 4 climbs and a load of flat, or there could have been a Catagory 2 climb and some descending.

I don't think that really matters here. As long as he doesn't live in East Anglia he wont have an issue throwing hills in. :rolleyes:

I'm doing the LCL century ride in about 5 weeks! I don't class myself as uber fit but reckon that my fitness to date and going out each week and doing 40-70 miles long rides will be enough to get me through!! I've already done a couple of 60's over last couple of months and a 40 today, potential 70 next weds and who knows what after!! I'm very much a just go out and ride its only recently that I make sure i take some munchies and water out let alone worry about gel packs and sh*te like that!!
