Toyota Auris shock

We’ve just had a letter from LV to say that they’re very sorry but the don’t want to insure Mrs O’s Auris hybrid after the end of the current policy term.

Apparently they are having an unacceptable level of theft claims for this vehicle type and have chosen to stop offering cover for them.

When did Toyota Auris become that much of a theft magnet? And WHY? Never saw it as that desirable.

Anyone else had a similar experience?

Anus hybrid is one of the top ones for cat theft, and in many cases the damage the scumbags are doing is enough to write off the car. The older Hknda Jazz suffers similarly and insurers are wary.

Saw a piece about range rovers somewhere about how owners are stuck with cars that they have bought on finance but cannot get insurance for them even from the land rover`s own insurance services .Due to the rise in thefts the cars devalue so quickly the vehicle has lost so much in value they cant get enough to pay off the finance either so they are stuck with a car they cant insure or sell .

They depreciated like stones before all that too - couldn't happen to a more deserving demographic IMO.
