Nice to see my local cycling pro April Tacey make the initial breakaway in the women's race , I went school with her dad and have followed her career and have had the pleasure of riding with her

I watched the highlights last night.
The overhead shot of his speed up the final climb was astonishing. No one can live with that.

The most pleasing aspect of yesterday was my YouTube feed lasting the whole race. They even switched to the World Feed commentary to save me from Carlton.

I wonder how much VDP’s crash and chase back took out of him?

He said in the post-race interview it wasn't ideal but that it would've been the same result. I think he got off lightly.

The overhead shot of his speed up the final climb was astonishing. No one can live with that.

Saw somewhere that in training he was going up the Oudenart at 40kph.

I know Quickstep have completely rebuilt as a GC team with Remco, but this feels all kinds of wrong

That was their top placing. 38th. That's in the big group that Ganna won the sprint for 8th from.
Not seeing them all day was just weird.

The QuickStep team did look very vanilla going in

They've got Magnier and Lamperti for the future but as you say, all the focus (money) has gone on the GC team

Just swapped out my old TV for a new OLED after Pogacar won.

That's an unusual way to celebrate his win
I watched the first 3 hours live on SBS yesterday, then had to make lunch, watch the F1 highlights, and then I watched the final 90k on catchup later in the day.
I just hooked up my laptop to the TV via HDMI, and the picture quality was just a good as anything I have seen previously - on a 55" TV.
Commentary was nothing that special, but I didn't hear too many cliches at any rate which was nice.

It gets worse, their next best rider was Magnier in 62nd. They had two other riders in the same group, which was 7'23" back.
