What stage are you at ? Comatose, inebriated or caffeine high ?

We need also a thread for the people who are watching it on computers, another for those who are just reading about it in online forums such as Cyclechat and that is even before we start the thread about the proliferation of threads on the tour of Britain.

Tonight I shall be watching it without any alcohol in my hand...unusual for a Friday

Should we have a thread for those watching it live on TV and those only watching highlights?

I normally sit on the couch, I have to switch off one of the lamps though as the glare means there is a patch on the screen where it is hard to make out the action. Should I move seat and keep both lamps on or stay in the comfier position and only have the one lamp on?

Also, do you think my enjoyment would be better if I turned up the surround sound or keep it at a "normal" level.

And... I watch the live show that I have taped, so is there an optimal time to watch it?

I was at my computer, aware the race was going on, waiting for a phone call. An interview it would have been. Except at 3pm they didn't call, because the call was scheduled for 4pm. They didn't call then either though because they forgot. So I missed thinking about when it would have been televised. And then I saw it was over by 2.15 or something and I could have watched it live if I'd got my shoot together to start with.

Might go and watch the final stage on Sunday (I just went out for a burn along the Embankment towards HoP, part of the course, racing commuters, avoiding traffic and drunk people). But my girlfriend wants me to go to her niece's birthday party. What should I do ? It's an Irish affair, 1'st birthday, republicans and all, so there will be drink.

How far from Westminster is the party? GF's niece won't mind you being in cycling gear - she's only one, after all!

I'm sat at the in-laws catching up on a weeks worth of highlights on an armchair that must have been designed by either a man who hated spines or someone working on a serious bung from the society of evil Chiropractors.

And why do people put so many cushions on their chairs and settees that one has to perch on a narrow seam on the front of the cushion? It's like buying a carbon bike then wrapping it in bubble wrap so you can't get near it.

Tonight, I missed the highlights...despite it being on the telly in my house I decided not to bother.

I shall be on the Embankment somewhere, Thom, but may steer clear of the crowds near the nitty gritty. I'll probably have some younger generations with me but hopefully find somewhere for a pint.

Watching the highlights show, I find myself waiting for Hugh Porter to tell me that the race is imploding (whatever that means).

Great win by 'see o lek' the other day.

I've been watching the highlights on itv 4 catch up,usually after I get in from work about midnight. The coverage is great apart from the blocks of six,yes six adverts that they spring on you at differing times just when things are hotting up,and as the above poster mentions I've been wrestling with that guy's name for a week now,and still can't get it right !
Also I notice that some of the commentary team have been catching some stick over the last few days, well I think Hugh Porter is doing a great job and some of his quotes such as " The taper's on fire,Brian" and numerous "The riders will be licking their lips" had me rolling in the isles ! great stuff
