Jeeze that TV coverage was terrible! Ten minutes of waffle then an ad break before they even turned a wheel and then they edited out massive chunks of the riding! Garbage. And the spectators? Hardly any! Mind you I can't blame them for not wanting to go to Blackpool. How much do places like that pay to have the race?

I have to say they did a good job at editing out any exitement from the race, it just seemed to cut from place to place, until it finally cuts to a shot of a road leading into Blackpool, then another cut to the final sprint to the finish line!

Just looking at the epg info on freesat, and it says Cycling: Tour of Britain 'this programme contains acts of violence', maybe they were expecting more head butting, kicking or water bottles being pelted into the faces of following riders?

i'll 2nd that... how many ad breaks and for how long did they wanna squeeze in.... was a shame so much of the route was edited out of the coverage... maybe a little less chat in the coffee shop at the start and we'd of got to see more...

The TOB is a sponsored event. The sponsors indirectly pay for the limited TV coverage. The bits you don't get to see are paid for by the ad breaks, it's called " Letting you look at some cycle racing on TV"

The atmosphere was great, did anybody see the bloke who rode up the Trough towing a kiddie trailer? He got a round of applause.

I was marshalling at KoM2 when he turned up. We just offered him some water before he turned around and went back!
