Game over then, looks like Contador. I'll get on the phone to Prudhomme and get it cancelled. No point...;)

Thoughts....

- shorter odds on LA than I expected
- ditto Cav
- I somewhat strangely find myself thinking kindly of Cadel!
- surely there's a name missing from yellow? that can't be it?!?!
- might have a punt on Haussler...
- ...and maybe even Sastre

Bertie's too short and so is LA.
Cadel - you couldn't really could you Yello?

Maybe Sastre or Menchov for value?

I thought maybe Hushovd for green - will Cav blow in the hills!

Hell no! He'll be top 5 I reckon but he just hasn't got the extra.

But I do suddenly find myself thinking that there's a dearth of choice. Maybe that's why LAs odds are so short?? I almost fancy my own chances!

Maybe the odds are reflecting that. I mean, maybe the race is for 2nd. Take Contador out of the mix and maybe it is anyone's? Maybe it's worth a flutter on someone like Sanchez?

Sastre is definitely good value at that price and so is Menchov. But Franck Schleck is a bargain. Yes, I know Andy's leader, but if anything happens to Andy (even if he misses a break and loses a chunk of time) I could see Bjarne switching to Frank as leader. And Saxo Bank are one heck of a team.

I'd hate to see Cadel win - he's such a blatant wheel-sucker.

I was surprised at Menchov's odds, 14/1 seems pretty long considering he's just won the Giro and Sastre even longer. Mind you has any climber won it two years on the run and no Contador last year.

He's no more of a wheel-sucker than any of the other GC riders.

Andy Schleck's odds are too short short in my view - I really don't see him ahead of Evans and Menchov. Kreuziger's money isn't bad for a dangerous outsider.

Ok so im new to cycling myseld but followed the TDF for years but this year got more involded in all the other tours adn races, anyway I have just got to know the best riders but why dose Contador have such big odds, i mean the way the bookies have is that he will run away with it, and even i know thats not going to happen or is it?

I wouldn't be so sure - unless Lance Armstrong shows a level of riding at the Tour way above what we have already seen this season (which I start to feel is more and more likely the closer the Tour gets) then I would make Contador a massive favourite, too. Maybe not quite the odds up there, but pretty close. He showed some brains at the Dauphiné, I thought - he demonstrated that he does know how to keep a lid on his attacking when he needs to.

To be fair (why? why be fair??) Cadel did show some daring do in the DL.
I've almost started to warm to Cuddles. I can't put my finger on it but he smells cleaner than some of the others. And I'd prefer pretty much anyone to win instead of someone from Astana. ;)
