Gee is 56 secs down with a TT to come. He's got good chance of at least a podium now but I tend to agree that he's probably not got the pure climbing legs for a GT contender but as we saw at Paris Nice, he's got the grit for a week race and if I'm honest, he's even more crash prone than Froome.

Well, Keldermann off the back, Thomas looking OK so far. I seem to recall he was alright on this climb last time.

The live streaming I watched was fine (l'equipe)). Thomas lost quite a lot of time today.

I was watching a German TV feed but my internet connection is so crap it was buffering every five seconds so I could hardly follow what was going on. From what I could gather, though, Barguil looks very deserving of the race lead. Good comeback by Tejay after his poor showing yesterday.

Talansky is being quietly consistent - could be a good bet to overtake top spot tomorrow.

Barguil is riding really well. Lopez was the one I was most impressed with today, though. As someone said earlier, Thomas hasn't got the team, but he also isn't enough of a mountain specialist.

He had a better 'lead out' from Kiryenkla than the others but just isn't up to it at present.
I'd suggest that he would have beaten most of those who bested him today, last year. He's either just not going well, ill or recovering from training hard.
It doesn't look good for him at the TdF though as a plan B. He'll be lucky to get any sort of secondary protected status.

I was thinking much the same - he doesn't look as strong as he looked this time last year. I wonder if maybe he's trying too hard to become a climber and has lost some of his raw power?

As for the team, as well as Kiryienka (who would be a valuable domestique on any Tour squad in the world), he has Golas, König and Knees, which doesn't look too shabby on paper - especially compared to some of the teams he's up against. Barguil doesn't exactly have much in the way of decent support in the mountains beyond the ageing Ten Dam.
