Robert Millar got the polka dot in '84.They're saying he's the first Brit to win the green jersey, but has any Brit won any jersey in the TdeF before?
Cav is teetotal!!!!!!!!!!!
I've lost all respect!
Rory Mcilroy and Darren Clark will both be ahead of Cav in the running for Sports Personality. People who win outright will always find more favour than those who win the bit prizes, as much of an achievement that five stages and the green jersey might represent.Best tour I've seen for a while, sad in a way its over though, managed to see every stage within 24hrs of it happening and not knowing the result before I had watched it to keep the suspense till the end unlike previous years.
But in a way its good it has finished, as I can now relax, start opening forum threads, watching the news or online or in a paper and avoiding any place where there might have been a spoiler to a stage before I watched it.
If Cav does not get the SPOTY award this year, then that award will loose all credability with me, over 100+ years for the first British rider to win green overall, and first rider to win three times in Paris, what achievements can better that by one person?
Great result. Also glad I won't have to see those Halfords ads any more.
