There was definitely one where he said he suffered heat stroke, may have been the Joux Plane and down into Morzine one

If he was suffering from heat stroke, he should have been taken out of the race and treated by the medical team.
Heat stroke is a medical emergency.

So what's the strategy for today?

Do we double down on scoffing at stupid futile pointless breakaways that can't possibly succeed, and pretend that yesterday didn't happen. Or are we more cautious and say things like "well, a small chance is better than no chance"?

Strategy here is not bothering to watch it, same as yesterday.

Boring as it comes, now the GC has been sewn up.

Shame the big kicker in the final GC result was the TT imo. Wish they would drop TT's full stop.

Been an exciting race up to a point although Vinnie, whilst being undeniably a brilliant cyclist, lacks any real fire and charisma with his grind-it-out-attrition approach to the contest. A bit like a top footy team deliberately grinding out 1-0 wins.

PS the bad weather today may be negatively affecting my mood and influencing this post content. ^_^

Article on Nils Politt problem with Shimano service not having the right bike for him but surely as the issue was a broken chain should not neutral service be able to fix that?

Even I can put a new chain on in a few minutes, what's wrong with these so called professionals.

Rodrigues getting a nice tow from his own team car, I always thought that was a no go

I think there's wiggle room there. If he's chasing back after an accident - they will let it go.
If he's trying to get across to the break like Nibali did a few years back - he'll get kicked out.

He's not getting a gain on any other riders - just getting back to where he was before the crash ?

Coming back from a crash, mechanical or nature break will require a racer to ride at a speed faster than the peloton. That’s difficult, so the rider will take a draft in the convoy of team cars to make things easier. This is actually not allowed, but the race jury generally turns a blind eye as otherwise they’d have half of the peloton disqualified for being outside of the time limit every day.
But sometimes the race jury notices, and then drafting a car is suddenly not ok. This is usually when the racing is at a critical stage, or if a rider is taking an unfair amount of time behind their team car. Sounds woolly at best? It is.
