I hope someone can help out on this one.

I'm riding my white Boardman hybrid down a lane the other day and hit a nasty piece of rusty metal bar in the road. It clattered round the back wheel and chipped off a wee bit of paint from the seat stay down to the metal.

Anyone got a good suggestion for the best paint to touch it up with?

Thanks

If you take it to a paint supplier they will have colour charts that you can match up. Small pot with a brush will be about 10 - 15 (larger Halfords mix paint as well.) or you could wheel it into any car spares shop and go through the paint sticks. but this is a bit hit and miss as tops are for guidance only

You could go to Boots and see if they have a matching nail varnish. Might be worth saying why you need it or you could get some funny looks. :girldance::whistle:

I went to halfords looked through their touch up pens and found one close enough. For small chips you are not likely to notice a slight colour difference.

Dead easy - my local Halfords let me grab a great big handful of white paint sticks and take them out of the store so I could get a good colour match in the sunlight.

Well done Halfords Kendal!

Not sure same level of trust will be found nationwide!

Presumably this would work with grey too?

Put a nasty scratch down my top tube when I leant the bike up a wall

Won't be doing that again

It is but takes a while to dry. Only use a tiny amount as it also tends to bead at the bottom of the patch
