All of the above are decent; I've used the Pedallers Arms and also been into Leeds Bike Mill. Quite a few of the independent bike shops will have trade-ins as well.

I've picked up some decent bikes for under £40 but there's nothing on eBay/Gumtree that shouts 'buy me' at the moment. That may change in a few days though.

There's a Yorkshire Cycle Sales Facebook group; worth an ask in there for a starter hybrid bike with your height. You'd be surprised what can be offered.

Personally I'd suggest give it a go, save up your bus fare saved in the knowledge that a) you've now got a 'bike fund' or b) you gave it a go.
