Tool Needed HELP!

Not sure if anyone can help i have to lowering my saddle to transport the bike. As its carbon i want to ensure the torque is correct. I have a workshop torque wench i was going to use. On trying it i have realised i cannot get the wrench onto the screw head as it clashes with the seat post. This is my setup can anyone recommend a bog standard 4mm torque wrench set to 6n or adjustable torque that would do the job? I just can't find one. Surely there must be a tool to do the job.

Presumably you've looked at 1/4" drive wrenches which are likely to have a small head.

Yeah unfortunately the head of the wrench clashes.

That could be an option may look into that, i was looking at a completely different torque wrench rather than just getting a different attachment. Thanks.

That would be absolutely perfect shame they don't seem to sale them in the UK. Have emailed the company to see if they would ship here. Fingers crossed.

I did look at one of them. The hex key i think would fit but don't think i would be able to turn it as the handle would be right up against seat post also they are set to 5nm and the recommended on my bike is 6nm with a max of 8km.

Try using your torque wrench on a different bolt on the bike to practise getting an idea of what 5-6nm feels like. Then use an ordinary allen key to tighten the seatpost clamp to the same degree. I don't think you need to worry too much about getting it precisely right.

Have you got a decent LBS. If so could you take the bike him and purchase one to suit ?

I have the same cannondale system. I find that by using an extension bar on the torque wrench it does not touch the seatpost. I usually put a bit of rag on the seatpost just in case though.

Thanks for all the comments guys. I contacted the Canadian company and they were extremely helpful. The normal shipping to the UK would have been $43 plus $8.99 for the tool totalling $52 approx. £37 but they went out of their way to find another shipper which brought the cost of the tool and shipping down to $19 approx. just over £13 very happy with that as its about the same price as the Topeak or Ritchey tool from a UK supplier. If your looking for a similar tool i'd highly recommend contacting them. They also said if i could wait until June they would have put the tool on a shipment to their UK distributor 'Shorelines' and the ask them to post to me making it even cheaper.

Just an update the tool arrived and works like a dream highly recommended if you have a seat clamp like mine.
