It's happened early this year...

I've ridden maybe 200 miles this past week and am already showing the signs...

I tan quickly and now have completely straight and very obvious tan lines halfway up my upper arm and halfway down my thigh....

My children think it looks hilarious (they always do).

My wife thinks it looks sad (she always does).

Every year I get told I'll look absurd on holiday (and every year I live up to that).

I imagine I'm not alone in being mocked for this strange dual-tone look.

My sandal tan lines still haven't gone from last year, but now my legs I have tanned up, I can see a lot of mocking whenever I go barefoot ... brown legs, pale brown feet, white sandal strap marks. Gah!

Oh, and let's not forget the summer mitts lines

I have 3 tan lines on the leg - one at the top of my shin where the knee pads for mountain biking end, one above the knee for decathlon bib shorts and one about 5 cm above that for my shutt vr shorts.

Then my hands look ridiculous, white apart from a little circle where there is a gap at the velcro fastener

I'm the exact opposite to all of you.
Being very very Scottish / Irish I must go through the following process before tanning.

From the blue of freezing cold to milk bottle white.
Milk bottle white to lobster red sunburn.
Lobster red has to subside a little to slightly red.
Slightly red sometimes leads to a mild tan.

That's as good as it gets really.

My dad fell asleep sat in a deck chair one sunny day. When he woke up and stood up he had a suntan striped stomach from his rolls of flabby belly whilst he was sat in the chair!

Hey some of us have just eaten !!!!
Tan lines are not a problem.
Burn lines because you didn't roll the sleeves up an inch while applying the cream are

My wife asked at the weekend if was wearing her stockings....oops wrong forum

Unless there is such a thing as cycle hot pants shorts and a moob tube can't see how you can avoid it.

I don't really like sunbathing and any sun I do get is either from on the bike or outside walking dog, running, gardening etc which I tend to do with some clothes on so never get a chance to rectify it.

Just stick to longer shorts
