Comfy armchair to one person & a plank to the next
I've a Tonard rear rack on the 1980s Falcon I've stored here. Nicely made plastic-coated steel, if I remember correctly, but it's not easy to check. I ought to move that bike on to someone who will ride it, but it reminds me of my teenage bike more than my current one (which is objectively better and has a better story).

Anyway, if they made bikes, that would help explain the nice rack!

The Tonards weight reduction has started I removed the light bracket whilst the wd40 worked it's magic on a rusty ol' chain .

Then I found a spare set of alloy 27" wheels and swapped the steel wheels out for the alloy wheels.

Then it was time for a few runs up and down the cycle path to see what it felt like. It felt smooth enough and chain soon sorted itself out.

Ok it needs the brakes sorting, gears sorting, cables replacement and swapping the bars and stem for alloy ones .

So it's got a while to go yet but it's started.

Would the lamp bracket polish up ok, or is it too far gone?

This one got some more attention tonight ie swapped steel bars and stem for some nice Cinelli items along with a pr of Red S non aero levers .
Old cables seem to be free enough so kept them in place and whilst i was doing brakes i fitted some Kool stop continental brake pads.

And i re aligned the rear mud guard , soon be time for a ride test
