I remember them demonstrating barcode scanners - they had a checkout race with an experienced checkout lady entering the prices directly into her electronic till versus a woman with one hour's training on the barcode system. They had identical baskets but unsurprisingly the barcoded checkout woman was much quicker. Apparently the system was already being tested in a supermarket in Harrow or something.

The one I remember is the early version of the CyKey on handed computer keyboard. Judith Hann learnt to use it and to this day still knows all the finger codes for it.

I want to get one and have a question in Electric Cafe about it if any one has ever used one.

Na Velcro is from the space program just like memory foam...

Velcro was a Swiss invention in the early 50s....by the guy that found bits of stuff attached to his clothes during mountain walks.

Yep, I remember, they dunked one in water, jam and all sorts of gunk, cleaned it up and...

it still sounded just as bad as it did when it was brand new!

And they don't last forever. The stuff the inner layer is made from can break down over time. I've got a few early CDs that are damaged.
