Recently I have had very sore big toes. They feel like they have bruises or I have been constricting the space on them when I havent.
The only thing I can think of is that I have the first signs of frostbite as when I have been cycling, I have lost feeling from the cold.

So how can I combat them? I wear thick socks and have my overshoes on most of the time. They really hurt.

Might be the thick socks causing it, might not have enough room in your shoes with the big thick socks on.

I have found that if socks or shoes are too tight then I get numb and cold toes. Sometimes less is more in terms of keeping the blood flowing and the feet warm.

Sometimes get really numb toes due to cold, so I always build in a big hill into the start of any ride....gets the blood pumping and then I'm nice and toasty for the remainder.

my right big toe always goes numb in the cold. i don't know why. beginning to think i have a bit of a flat right foot or something that cuts circulation off
so when cycling in the cold it goes numb, when out hill walking it goes numb. when standing for long periods my right leg takes a battering and cramps from knee downwards. :cold:

Bloody hell, I didn't realise Chilblains are real, I thought they were an old wives tale!

My overshoes have made a huge difference to my feet going numb and then hurting like a wrongun when defrosting, before my overshoes my feet would go dark grey!

My toes still throb, but I might try loosening my shoes, because that kinda makes sense.
