I find the whole 'N+1' concept quite exhausting. There's so many nice bikes out there and so many different reasons to like one over another. I've been mulling over my next bike as whilst my trusty Specialized Sirrus has done me proud, I'm feeling the need for drop bars.

On various days I've had my heart set on a Secteur Sport, Ribble Sportive, Merlin Malt-R, Bianchi Via Nirone, Felt Z85, Trek 1.5 and some others I've already forgotten.

Today's N+1 is this:

The Boardman Road Team (alloy) with 105 groupset and Mavic Aksium wheels. £999 all in. It's a very good spec and I actually really like the look of the bike - it just 'fits my eye'.

Now, I just need to wait for a sale! ^_^

I just got a felt z85 with 105 for £740, a good deal if you can get it in your size!

I like the Boardman, though my company don't deal with them through the cycle to work scheme. Just means I've got to wait for my Allez until 11 September

Meanwhile it's a nice way to spend an evening checking out different bikes

I've confused myself by looking at every bike under £1500 online. I don't know if I want a full carbon with decent components or a good aluminium frame with excellent components and wheels or if I should be happy with what I've got (Specialized Secteur 2013) as it's only one year old and like new. I spend far too much time every evening drooling over new bikes that it's becoming a habit. My wife joked that she would even prefer it if I was looking at adult websites every night as the sight of bikes all the time is starting to annoy her!! Tell me I'm fine with my current bike and spending £1500 on a new one won't dramatically increase my happiness.

A new £1500 bike will not increase you happiness.

A £3500 one with Di2 might though.

That's actually good to hear because I don't have £3500 to spend on a bike so I can content myself with what I've got. I was thinking that as winter will soon be with us I'm going to use my Spesh Secteur as my winter bike with its durano plus tyres and make the most of it until next summer comes at which point I'll raid the piggy bank and get my next racer!!

Join British Cycling and get 10% off. For £21 a year its got to be worth it.
I am saving for the Team Carbon at £1299 less 10% with BC membership.

The Boardman Road Team is a nice looking bike, I saw quite few of them on the RLS 100 on the 4th.
