The reason I ask it that normal levels are between 14-18 gm / dL for an adult male. Assuming you are using the same units yours is way off the scale .

I did wonder if 14.4 but nurse deffo said 144 and said it was a good drop of blood

She is probably expressing as qty per litre which is equivalent to 14.4 per deci Litre. There is no way it would be nine to ten times outside the norms.
