Sandie Shaw - Puppet on a String, It came into my head when I had a caller whose name was S Shaw. And much to my annoyance it stuck there.
Unchained Melody, a song which I feel transcends its popularity, on the platform of a Melbourne loop station. I must have been affected by the chords because I caught the eye of a young woman and smiled as I walked past.
Was it Wagner who said all music was folk music?
Why do we all remember Yakety-Yack and King Curtis' stuttering sax?
Why do we remember Nina Simone singing "...well I started out on burgundy, but soon I hit the harder stuff.."

At the moment I'm istening to the wireless - an exploration of thye song "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot" by Paul Robeson, Beyonce, Eric Clapton, and a stack of a capella singers,
maybe the finest music is religious music.
