thanks guys for all ur advice.

i've found a cad 8 sora 2011 for 499 plus post. it will mean i have a decent base bike and can upgrade wheels and groupsets in time IF i feel i need to. it should still be a fair upgrade from my old sunn and wont break the bank. i do this road cycling thing as a stress relief from the real world not to win the tour , (plus it will leave a few quid for me to look for a new mtb too)
