Only the classic (large) ipods have hard disks. The small ones like the nano use flash memory like other players so they're reasonably tough.

How is it we can manage to drive cars and listen to the radio, and yet so many people think we cant listen to an ipod and ride a bike?

I seriously think its down to the fact that too many of us have no cycling training, and don't follow the rules of the road.

I never understand why cyclists need to undertake at red lights for example, they save a few seconds and far too many seem to end up under the wheels of something, ipod or not.

I know my view are not shared by most, but I see far too many cyclists jumping red lights etc.

For one, you don't need to hear cars coming from behind when driving, (Yes somebody with helmet mirrors probably wouldn't need to hear cars but not alot of people wear helmet mirrors.).

And you may see to many cyclists go through red lights, I so far have only seen one myself, I've seen alot of cars/buses go through red lights though,

Drivers dont need to hear because they use mirrors. Cyclists don't look anywhere near enough.

You obviously don't ride in London, if you did you would see hundreds jumping lights every day. It's well documented that David Cameron and Boris Johnson have done it.
