Planned a long ride (for me) today

Got up and it was blowing hard. Hoped it would die down but its just not happening

Not sure if I should go out on road route as planned or on a more sheltered shared route to Newcastle

Oh the indecision!!

Yesterday long ride for me was half decided by wind direction. So I got side wind out side tail wind back. If I had gone elsewhere it could have been side headwind out, side headwind back.

I got a pleasant surprise when I woke up the weather was 10 times better than the forecasted heavy winds and rain, in fact I think it'll still dry  Regardless of the weather I was always going out its never seems to be as bad when you are out there, especially in a group.

Ditto today. Decided to go and first half was fine as I was headed up to the top of the valley.

Oh dear, once I got on top it was terrible.

Hard work coming back and still only 25 mile in total, but still glad I went out.

I went out this morning around 7 for 30 miles and then back for kids club at the pictures.

It was windy, and the roads were wet though it didn't rain. It felt good though going out with the weather very dark and seeing the daylight come in on the bike.

I too was out in Northumberland today. The wind was unreal. I also wore too many layers, and ended up sweating like a pig. Managed 31 miles and had to sit in the garage for 10 minutes when I got back, exhausted.

My normal route is 33 miles, taken at an average of 17mph. Today, I managed 15.6mph over 31mph, but it was definitely the hardest ride I've ever done.
