I know that feeling. Personally I wouldn't buy one. I have a couple of small trampolines (cast-offs from friends whose kids outgrew/got bored of them). The trampolines dont get used very often and are just taking up space.

My friends have one of the big garden jobbies - if you do go for it, get one with a net for safety reasons.

I think they're brilliant, provided they're big enough. Small ones are a waste of time, cos you need to be able to do the sit-down and twist around stuff to make it interesting. 12' sounds fine, and £70 is a bargain. The nets are annoying, but that's your call if you're worried about them flying off. And never mind the kids - if they get bored they're great fun and very good exercise for adults. I stayed somewhere that had one recently, and couldn't keep off it. I would discourage the little uns from doing somersaults unless someone who knows what they're doing is around, though.

My son had a nasty arm break when he fell off his mates a couple of years ago,and no we didnt know they had one,or i wouldnt have let him anywhere near, the safety net is a must have, its too easy to bounce off.Personally i wouldnt have one,but i had this attitude before my sons accident,he knew this ,probably why i didnt know about it.

It's interesting...if you zoom in on google-earth-map-thing, you can see loads of trampolines in peoples' back gardens.

I have a big one with safety net in the back garden. My kids love it, even slept on it one hot summer night (not this year then!). Wouldn't consider it without the net of course, that's just asking for a broken arm, which is exactly what our adult neighbour did after she had drunk a bottle of wine and got on it with the kids.

My kids are 6 and 9 in December.

I'm planning on buying one of the massive ones with complete safety nets once my daughter is old enough, they sell them in Costco for a few hundred quid.

They might take up space but they are great fun for everyone and good exercise too.

Ex boss of mine once had the idea of getting one of those outfits where you have trampolines that fold away into a lorry, and taking it to cycling roadshows (an extra fitness arm, so to speak). We told him to google "trampoline" and "health and safety" or "accidents" or something like that, he looked and never brought the idea up again...

They do seem popular, I was on a train at the weekend and saw loads in people's gardens. I guess it's just luck as to whether the kids really take to it, or you end up with a white elephant...

Get one if you want to fall out with all your neighbours within a 100 yard radius. The continuous bouncing drive 'em nuts and the sound of kids screaming and squealing makes 'em really mad.

My sister's teenage kids had one and it was catastrophic for neighbourly relations.

If I had a white elephant, it could help me water the garden. If I had a garden...

8 inches is tiny. You sure about that?
You'd need one for each foot...

My next-door-neighbours-but-one have one for their kids, and they're on it all the time. My guess is that it's great excercise and a lot of fun.

So long as the £90 tag doesn't mean that it's going to collapse in a heap of sharp broken metal, I'd say it sounds like a great idea. If your kids don't really end up using it, I'm sure you'd be able to get most of that back on eBay.
