I just dry wipe the frame with old soft cloth. The chain is also dry wiped before oiling. Bikes look good even after nearly 20 years, and transmission lasts almost 10000 miles. Must be doing something right!

I take the wheels off, stand the frame in the bath and give it a shower, then I do likewise with the wheels, this removes grit. I then dry it, transfer to the lobby and here I wipe it over with baby wipes, taking care to clean the cassette, brakes and brake blocks (scrape out the slots with a flat head screw driver), wipe the tyres and check for debris, clean up the braking surface then re-assemble. As for cleaning and lubing the chain, I just put lube on it, leave it for a bit, then clean each link out with a rolled up baby wipe.

Shed not let me do that, had a struggle getting it to live in the utility, from the shed.
