You can't outdo other peoples commuter bicycles. I stepped up from the Schwinn Impact to a nice Raleigh one day, and the next day, there was a Tomasso, a Brompton, a LeMond, and a Dawes all in the same rack at work. Almost a bike expo. Time to get to work on the Olmo.

From my oldest son: check the performance of both brakes before attempting to ride down a subway slope while holding a bacon sandwich in one hand.
