Hi, I'm getting a ticking metallic sound which is not related to pedalling as I also get it when coasting. I cannot pinpoint the origin. I know it's difficult to 'diagnose' from video but any ideas or suggestions are more than welcome. Video link below.

Thanks

Could be any number of things.
Hold the front brake on and rock the bike back and forth, any ticking?
lift the front wheel off the ground and rotate any ticking? Turn the handlebars left and right, any ticks or creaks from the headset?
Do the same with the rear wheel.
Could it be the seat post creaking , remove, clean regrease and refit.
Check the spokes to see if any are broken and clicking on the fork or frame.
You say it doesn't happen when pedaling so it can't be the BB or drive chain, or even the pedals.
It can take a while to eliminate strange noises.

^^^^^ this.

Further suggestions:

see if it happens in or out of the saddle to eliminate seatpost.

Try putting all your weight on front or rear wheel to isolate possibilities.

Wheels can make ticking noises, both from spokes moving over one another at crossover and friction at the rim. A drop of lube at all the eyelets and crossovers can solve it. If you have an alternative wheel to swap in, that's a good way to eliminate.

Hi, Thanks for all your replies. I have gone through most of them already and at one point I thought I solved it when I found a very loose spoke. But it came back. I'll lube all the spokes next. To be honest it seems to be coming from the frame itself but I'm not sure how to actually check it.

I've just replaced the headset on one of my bikes to solve an irregular ticking. It only stopped when I took my hands off the bars.

I haven't had that one before.

I've had ticking saddles, shoelaces against cranks, mudguards against debris on tyres, saddlebag, spokes, amongst others.
