Tiagra cassette or better?

I may be getting a new set of wheels for my Specialized allez elite which has a Shimano HG-50, 9-speed, 12-25t (Tiagra) cassette on at the moment. I will need a new one for these wheels as I plan to keep my current wheels as spares and wouldn't want to mess around much if swapping them.

Question is, do I buy the same or get the Ultegra model as the teeth are the same 12-25 and the wheels are fulcrum 3's? Would I notice?

The Ultegra will be slightly lighter and will maybe last longer but you probably wouldn't notice it, I don't think it comes in 9sp anyway so it wont fit with your shifters.

Oh if you want an improvement lighter and quality check out sram and see if they do a good 9sp cassette; I changed my Shimano 12-25 10sp 105 cassette for a Sram 11-26, its marginally faster at top speed and marginally easier for climbing at the bottom gear.

+1 You won't notice(apart from slightly nicer shifting) and given the price they are asking for new cassettes it is not worth it.

Now that's a good idea!

I'd argue the Ultegra may not last as long as Tiagra. IME the higher end tackle is not as long lasting/hard wearing as the lower stuff.
I've recently changed the cassette on the CAAD from SRAM Red to Ultegra for the same reason.
