Thru Axle question

Greasing the threads is a no-brainer.

There is the potential for relative motion between the thru axle and the actual axle in the hub, admittedly only when there is insufficient friction between the axle ends and the fork. There can be evidence of anodising being worn away on the thru axle, encouraging corrosion. Some dynohubs exhibit the connections rotating forward over time, probably from eccentric loading from the disc brake.

There is some clearance between the thru axle and the hub axle. I prefer to prevent potential corrosion there with some grease, just keep it away from the ends of the hub axle.
