Threads gone!

Not sure this is the right place to put this, but i'm going to have a rant about it anyway.
The thread has gone where my bottle holder fits to the frame.
Easy job.... Drill out rivnut and replace rivnut! Simple.
I have tried everywhere i can think of to try and get some rivnuts!!!! No one has them on the shelf in Southampton.
I think i've phoned every fastener supplier in the region this morning.
I've even tried the bikes shops around.........Of course they'll fix it for me at a price! But they won't sell me the rivnuts so i can fix it myself.
Funnily when i asked them what supplier they used to get their rivnuts so i could go there, they couldn't remember!

Simple job........With the parts it is anyway!!!

I get mine from RS Components or Ebay. RS is not too far from me and I can pick up over the counter. I think I still have a full set from M3 to M8. I can post a few to you if you want.
Just PM me your details.

Just check that it's the thread that has gone and not that it's simply come loose, a few squeezes with a rivnut gun might cure it.

I have some - you are welcome to a couple now , if I can borrow your rivnut tool when I finally get around to drilling the old frame which lacks cage mounts.

I was going to fit it the old fashioned way.
With a nut,bolt and a piece of thin sheet metal.....My brother showed me how to do it years ago. I was also shown how to do it when i was a trainee aircraft fitter.

I was going to see if i could borrow a proper tool from work.... As i work for Draper tools, the largest tool supplier in the country, i thought we'd do them.............But we don't!!!!

Thanks for the offer of the rivnuts though... May take you up on that.

Warranty!

Although the frame has a lifetime guarantee, i'm sure as the bike is just over 4 years old, i'd be told it's "mis-use" Or workable part thats not covered.
