I'm Not that keen on frame only deals. The full bike gets you the other components at relatively lower cost.

If you can get a massive discount on the frame then it leaves plenty left to spec the bike as you wish - plus there are also great deals on components out there too.

Not my cup of tea, but then again it would have to ride up the hills for me to warrant £750 on a frame alone! I'm sure it's very good and I'm sure Paul's cycles won't let you down.

In surprised more people don't go down this route. Could easily have a hi-mod on the road under £1500. Got to be a bargain as you couldn't buy one at that price and you get to chose your own finishing kit.

I have to agree with @huwsparky, but suspect people are a bit scared of the Unknown?

It's not as daunting as you might think. There are plenty of mechanics out there, who would build a complete bike, or part thereof, for reasonable money too.

A friend of mine who had never built a bike before built one in 10 hours.

I suspect a mechanic would build a bike in 2hours.

In my case the frame is the most expensive part of the bike.....like i say for £750 and a total build of around £1400 for a brand new hi mod is a no brainer for me

Total no brainer. You've got to be pretty short sighted to not see that as a bargain. Dependant on the right frame at the right price, a self build can be great value, like your bike will be.

The big plus is, if you don't need new wheels etc then you just don't buy them.

What are you doing about the BB30?
