thoughts for my first road bike that I will do a Duathlon on in September then use for riding after that?

Depends what kind of "riding" you are going to do after the duathlon. Are you getting a racing-style bike for one duathlon that you plan to ride in September, then using that for commuting and utilitarian use?

I'm surprised no one has pointed out that there is no way to attach proper mudguards or rack to that bike. That's all fine for the event you may enter in September, but hardly practical if you try to use the bike for utilitarian purposes besides.

Ask yourself this: Will I use the bike for, say, 90% general riding and only 10% competition? If you honestly answer yes to this question, then that's not an appropriate bike. You should look for a sport tourer with more clearances and braze-ons to attach accessories. You can still have fun enetering amateur races with such a bike. If the percentages are reversed, then sure it will do ... if you can only afford one bike.

I wount be useing it to ride to work or to get about town as I cummet a long way in to london.
