Why pick up a hand of five or six bananas, then remove one or two? There's always dozens of loose, perfectly edible single bananas in the local supermarket where people have done this and NOBODY seems to go for 4 (or however many you need) loose singles.

Mebbe it gets dubbed in afterwards like canned laughter. In one case where I was present they removed the sound of the crowd booing in subsequent news bulletins.
