I will start off:

Make sure you check that your wheel is a freehub first before you buy a cassette. Unfortunately mine was threaded.

Never carry your cable lock in the opened position.
I know someone who snapped his lock shut at his destination before realising he had left the key at home.

next time i think my hi-fi amp is packing up... double check it's not something else... like my pc... next time i think my pc needs a new sound card... make sure it's not something else, like a reinstall of Winamp... that way i'll save £170 on a nice new amp i didn't need, plus an extra tenner on a sound card i didn't need either.

Next time you turn off the hot water supply to install a shower make sure you then remove the stop end on the hot feed.

You don't though, the brakes still work just as effectively albeit with slightly longer lever travel.

Next time I completely dismantle my spare bike (and buy new bits to fit on it) to get to the bottom of a loose bottom bracket, start from the said bottom bracket first, make sure I am actually able to remove the cranks

Don't use the adaptor for splined cranks on your crank puller when removing a square taper crank.(Unless you like seeing the threads come out in a neat coil of course .)
