Hi,
My Castelli gloves are only ok for spring.
I want some warm winter gloves that are not too thick, water proof and not very expensive.
Shoot.

Mountain Warehouse ski gloves. Mine were about £20 in their sale about seven years ago.

The subject of warm gloves is still a mystery to me after donkeys years (a lifetime, in fact) of riding a bike. Some folks have got unbelievably good circulation whereas others could wear electronically heated gloves and still have cold hands. We had a young lady in our group one Saturday many moons ago and the weather was bloody freezing. She wore no gloves and her hands were toasty. How's that work? My own solution to cold hands was lobster mitts made by Sealskinz. Cost a few bob but they actually worked. I wouldn't say they were waterproof but as long as my hands are warm I don't mind them being wet. Sadly they're getting on in years, like me, and the filling has gone a bit 'flat' but they still work after a fashion. I've ridden all winter outdoors and only missed odd rides due to ice and my hands, though not toasty, are warm enough.

Wife got me a pair of Bertschat heated gloves for Valentine's Day. I haven't tried them yet, but think they cost in excess of £100! I'm seriously thinking of getting her to return them - I feel that's a ridiculous amount to pay for gloves, no matter how good they may be.

Anyone got any expwerience of them?

Retired skiing gloves on their way down the use chain are fine. But not really waterproof any more. Or touch screen.

Expensive, but wonderful Sealskinz, a left over from sailing days are great. But seem too precious to use.

A rubbish pair of winter cycling gloves from the bargain bin at Aldi punch way out of their league. First choice most days.
But don't work on touch screens.
A pair of Aunty Betty's issue goretex over mittens complete the ensemble for the discerning gentleman cyclist. Not stylish, but, they are distinctly un Cool but very effective.

Warmest gloves I ever had were Golf Mitts from Aldi. About a fiver.

No use for STI etc but great for grip shift on my MTB.

Is Grip Shift still a thing ?

Neoprene divers wet suit gloves.

Very warm, windproof, and come in a variety of thicknesses - they're very warm so youll only need thinner ones. Dirt cheap.
