DB: Do you think that the club will eventually get council planning permission to build this “new” stadium?
I use the term guardedly, as it looks to me as if both ends remain the same, the open stand gets a roof and the old covered stand is raised?

I think it was back in 1999 that the idea of the east stand being redeveloped and 'sinkable' with a grass roof was forst mooted and that opened the Charity can of worms. So this saga has been going on for at least 25 years now!
Reading on the Bath fan's site it does seem that we are closer than ever, with the planning application having been submitted and modifications made based on feedback from the relevant statutory bodies that are involved in a World Heritage setting.
So whilst I won't hold my breath, I think it is now 90% likely to happen.
Afterall, what is on the site at the moment hardly enhances the World Heritage status does it!

Having been to the Rec at Bath to watch a match, my worst nightmare is that they relocate out of town. There is something special about descending the steps next to the Pulteney Bridge and heading down the river bank to the stadium. Only the Principality Stadium in Cardiff comes close.

I was going to post that Bath have our Hollie refereeing and then she went and gave Sam Underhill a red card.
Still Bath are running a minor riot and the Saints are comfortably ahead against Clermont

Sadly I can't justify Premier Sports, so not watching any rugby this weekend.
Pleased obviously with last night's result and young Donnoghue going really well.

Looking like Ireland will beat Quins comfortably enough.

A day early admittedly but (given who play tomorrow) it looks as if the representation in the quarter finals will be 4 from the Pro 14, 3 from the URC and just Northampton from the Gallagher.

The rec is very low capacity and arguments about the ground (partly on public recreation space) with Nimbys have been running forever. About 20 years ago there were serious proposals to groundshare with Swindon Town, which would have been a disaster - a lot of the season ticket holders are Bath based and wouldn’t be heading 35 miles up the M4 to support.

Last match I saw was 3 seasons ago when Bath were dire - quite a turnaround since then.
